North London Collegiate School (UK) is a top independent day school for girls aged 4-18. Since its founding in 1850, generations of girls have received an ambitious academic education and formed a bond with NLCS (UK), which lasts forever. The school provides a carefully judged blend of support and challenge, a friendly and warm atmosphere, glorious facilities and extensive extra-curricular activities.
The school is proud of its tradition of producing independently-minded young women with the drive to make the most of opportunities and a difference in the world. That was the vision of the founder, Frances Mary Buss, in 1850, and it remains at the heart of the school today.
With a strong track record of enabling girls to gain entry to their first choice of university, examination success is only part of the picture and passionate teachers inspire pupils with a love of their subject which goes beyond the examination syllabus.

A message from the Headmistress
Our mission is to provide an inspirational education to enable our pupils to become young women of influence and impact. From the earliest years, we teach our pupils to think for themselves and to be intellectually courageous. The development of emotional intelligence and character is just as important. Our pupils’ personal development and pastoral care are supported by our relentless investment in individual growth. We are inspired by our heritage of academically ambitious teaching but empowered by modernity. Our aim is that, as adults, our pupils will have the intellectual curiosity and personal resilience to adapt to and shape an increasingly fast-paced and dynamic world.
The school provides the springboard for pupils to find their place in a global world which will require not only technical skills, but also creative and communication skills to thrive. The school creates a vibrant atmosphere which helps girls to develop a relaxed self-confidence. This enables them to find their niche, develop confidence and succeed in whichever area they choose.
